Our Head Coach – Arj Perera
Qualifications – ASCA Level 1 Strength & Conditioning, Diploma of Fitness, Rehab Trainer (Master Certification, Kinetic Link Coach, Training For Warriors (include trademark sign here) Coach, Boxing Level 2, Aikido Black Belt ‘Iwama Style’.
Arj is a 12 year veteran of the fitness industry, initially beginning his career in Melbourne where he spent 8 years working for Fitness First. During this time he developed his passion and skill for injury rehabilitation and elite sports condition and owes much of this passion to many allied health professionals who generously gave of their time to expand his knowledge. He spent 3 years lecturing for the Victoria University Personal Training & Diploma program and operated a successful mentorship and development program for new Personal Trainers during his final years in Melbourne. Over the years he has worked with state and national level athletes, most recently the WNBL Bendigo Spirit and has a passion for helping everyday people see and realise the best in themselves.
Our 2IC – Avril Angell-Johnson
Cert 3 & 4 fitness
Currently studying ASCA level 1
Being the 2IC doesn’t just mean she is behind the scenes, she is hands on and takes her job very seriously to help everyone get the best out of themselves. Avvy’s time in the industry has only been for a few years but with so much life experience and passion for health and fitness she was a perfect fit. From full group classes to her one on one pt’s she leaves a positive imprint on everyone. With her bubbly personality and ability to make people feel right at home and feel the THM love she is one of a kind and that’s why we have her managing our Coaches. Being a mum she is always busy, on the go yet still manages to be there for all her clients and takes the time to let them cry on her shoulder to celebrate all their goals achieved, or when the times get tough and they doubt themselves.

“Oh my I’m going to be sore tomorrow, thank you for kicking my butt!”
“I love how every session is different and she takes the time to help each and every one of us, she really does care about us.”

Our Lovable Legend – Jack Podesta
Jack’s passion for health and fitness was ignited when he was diagnosed in early childhood with severe musculoskeletal and respiratory ailments. Growing up in regional NSW these complications meant that he was unable to participate in any of the team or contact sports unless he was able to gain size and strength and being defeated by his diagnoses was never going to be an option.
Determined to be in control of his journey Jack became heavily involved in sports specific strength and conditioning training, instead of getting jack onto the field it lead him further into the health and fitness community. Jack completed his education with AIF, so that he could continue to understand how to create safe stress within the body to promote better overall functionality and strength development. Jack is extremely passionate in helping not just his clients but those around him understand they are stronger than they first believe they ever could be both physically and mentally.
Jack’s personal experiences have taught him that while the first step in your journey may not be in the direction you may have always planned, if you have the right support and professional guidance your body is a phenomenal machine of growth, change and progression that you will never stop moving forward.
Our Outdoor Specialist – Pete Delahenty
All it took was one session with a friend and I was hooked. Struggling personally, I was invited to an outdoor training session with a few friends and I haven’t looked back.
Building from that I was then introduced to group personal training sessions with THM. Before I knew it the journey had started, and it had become a lifestyle.
It wasn’t hours on a treadmill or in a gym, it was being surrounded by similar or likeminded people that want to be the best version of themselves. Bike, hike, walk, run, climb, get outdoors and enjoy what life has to offer.
Then I was offered the opportunity of getting paid for doing something that I love.
I look forward to each session and love the friendships built through hard work, achievements and reaching goals together.
As a trainer I try to get the message across that it can be done no matter how hard it may seem at the time. Trust the process, set goals and smash them. It all takes time. There is no quick fix in my opinion.
Overcome your fears, get out and trying something new, don’t let anyone tell you, that you can’t.
Remember, everyone was a beginner once.
Our Supermum’s Coach – Kat Brown
Cert 3 & 4 fitness
Kat is our “Supermum’s Coach” and runs our Mum’s and Bub’s classes.
Being a mum of 4, Kat completely understands the busy lifestyle of a Mum and how we often forget to put ourselves first.
Kat’s passion is getting Mum’s out of the house and into a positive and supportive environment where they can get fit and active again, all while bringing their kids along for the ride!
Whether it’s our Mum’s and Bub’s classes or Kat’s PT clients, they are all loving being supported and pushed out of their comfort zones in their sessions.
